Unleashing the She Beasts: How Crowdfunding is Empowering the Next Generation of Female Warriors at She Beasts Academy

She Beasts is back with our latest blog series: "The Social Impact." In this series, we will dive into the incredible initiatives, collaborations, and support provided to organizations in the past.

As we gear up for 2024, She Beasts is poised to make an even bigger impact in our local community. Join us as we explore the journey of empowerment and transformation, one story at a time.

The Academy

The She Beasts Personal Training Academy specializes in empowering women through fitness and trauma recovery. Our academy offers top-tier training programs designed specifically for women seeking to become certified personal trainers.

We understand the unique challenges women face, particularly those on a journey of trauma recovery. Our holistic approach integrates physical fitness and mental wellness, ensuring our graduates are equipped with both technical skills and the empathy needed to support clients through their healing journeys.

The She Beasts Level 2 & 3 diplomas in Personal Training and Gym Instruction provide comprehensive training in exercise science and nutrition. Beyond the textbooks, we bring real-world experience and compassionate guidance to every session, creating a supportive environment where individuals can thrive.

The Crowdfund and Allies

None of this would have been possible without the success of our "Teach a Female to Fish, Feed Her for Life" crowdfunding campaign. Thanks to the generous contributions from our local community and supporters, we raised over £10,000.

We’d like to highlight a few of our 129 incredible supporters:

Sports England: Our campaign received a significant boost with an additional £4,000 in funding from Sports England. "Uniting the Movement" is Sports England’s ten-year vision to transform lives through sport and activity, and we are proud to say that through their Active Together Fund, we received £4,000 to grow and continue uplifting the lives of people in Birmingham. The support for She Beasts’ Crowdfunder is a testament to the important work we’re doing, bringing the power of movement and well-being to women in the city.

Sadia’s Beauty Lounge: Local businesswoman Sadia, owner of Sadia’s Beauty Lounge, played a pivotal role in the success of the campaign. Her substantial contributions and active support were instrumental in helping us reach our goal.

“It was an absolute pleasure to support the She Beasts crowdfund. I heard about She Beasts through Terri, whose life was transformed by them. I saw what they did and how someone's life had changed for the better. This was all I needed to show my support. I would support them again and urge others to do the same. I have very high hopes for She Beasts and have every faith in the organization’s future.” — Sadia

  • Stuart Colligon: Successful businessman and ally Stuart Colligon made a generous donation, fully sponsoring one woman’s training. His support exemplifies a commitment to empowering women with diplomas, bridging gaps, and instilling confidence for a transformative journey.

“Businesses and their owners benefit from their environments, access to great employees, their happiness in their jobs, and people buying their goods and services. All this comes from the wider community, so I think it’s important that businesses support community projects with time and money. It should be a symbiotic relationship. Sometimes my interest is driven by the cause, and sometimes by the inspirational person behind the cause. In the case of She Beasts, it was both. I had not before come across a venture that so cleverly combined both the support for individuals who have suffered horrific trauma with creating a route for self-improvement that should set them up for the future. Sadie’s passion and drive are so inspirational.” — Stuart Colligon

Our Ongoing Support

Supporting She Beasts means joining a community dedicated to uplifting and empowering women. Whether you’re a trauma survivor or passionate about helping others overcome obstacles, we provide the tools and support needed to make a meaningful impact.

Since launching our Crowdfund, we’ve been fortunate to secure additional funding and sponsorships to further our mission. A special highlight was being chosen as the charity of the evening at the Midlands Marketing Awards, where a raffle raised an incredible £1,100 in donations for our cause.

We are also proud to have received funding from the National Lottery, enabling us to offer accredited, fully funded qualifications to those who need them most.

We are truly grateful to provide an inclusive, safe space through our Academy, which is open to all females aged 18 and over.
